Support Animal Rescue & Trauma Healing at Our Texas Sanctuary 🐾

Meet Olive and Pickles: Your gift gives them — and others — a forever home.
Penelope’s Pondstead & Sanctuary is a ✅501(c)(3) nonprofit, EIN 39-2290148.
🎁 Matching Gift Challenge — Help Us Hit $10K by 2026!
A generous supporter will match all gifts — up to $10,000 — IF we reach our goal by December 31, 2026.
That means your $35 becomes $70, your $100 becomes $200, and every gift helps us break ground on Texas’ first green care sanctuary.
Help create a permanent green care sanctuary where animals, nature, and people heal together.
🐣 Every $35 can rescue a farm animal and restore a square foot of Texas soil.
🎁 For a limited time, all gifts from the first 100 Founding Donors help us break ground — and will be honored on our sanctuary wall.
Penelope’s Pondstead & Sanctuary is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to establishing a permanent green care farm and sanctuary— a place where rescued farm animals receive lifelong care and humans engage in land-based therapeutic practices that promote physical, psychological, and social well-being.
Rooted in the evidence-based principles of green care, our mission integrates:
🐄 Ethical farm animal sanctuary care
(Providing safe, enriched, lifelong homes for animals from neglect, abandonment, or industry surplus)🌱 Nature-based therapeutic activities
(Including regenerative farming, animal interaction, and land stewardship)🧠 Trauma-informed, hands-on recovery pathways
(Particularly effective for stress-related, developmental, and familial trauma)
📚 The Science Behind Our Work
Green care refers to structured therapeutic, educational, or social interventions that involve nature, animals, and farming.
Peer-reviewed studies show that green care practices:
Decrease cortisol and stress-related inflammation
Improve executive function and emotional regulation
Support long-term recovery for trauma survivors, especially in youth and underserved populations
Foster a sense of competence, connection, and purpose
🧡 Our Impact Begins with Land
We’ve established the nonprofit infrastructure and developed a detailed sanctuary blueprint.
Now, we are raising the funds to acquire land that will serve as a living sanctuary — for animals, for people, and for community reconnection.
40+ families have already donated. Join them in funding a future grounded in compassion and care.
